Yay, an update from the always MIA-from-his-blog Mark.
Some updates about my very dull life in IMU (and oh, that's what you think right?) Actually no, just because I don't update my blog, it doesn't mean that there's nothing interesting to update about since the life of a typical medical student revolves around studying. And even if I did update my blog, my topics will bore you with uninteresting and unnecessary facts on myocardial infarction (layman: heart attack) and respiratory distress (i don't know if there's a layman term for that? or is that already layman?)
Apparently not, because I am struggling to actually find time to study, which I totally should be doing. Mark desperately needs to be studying for the sake of his grades and for the sake of the people he will be handling...
Anyway, I spent the last 1.5 months of my life in IMU doing things totally unrelated to my studies. (which is a bad thing)
In this semester, I study four systems of the human body; ie
- Cardiovascular System (the heart and blood vessels)
- Respiratory System (Lungs and oxygen carrying blood cells)
- Hematology System (blood system includes bone marrow, leukemia, anemia)
- Gastrointestinal System (the study of the alimentary canal; mouth, oesophagus, stomach, intestines, rectum, anus)
After the first two systems I had an exam, which I did relatively okay in. Not too bad, not too good.
After that exam, I kind of took a break from studying, a break which is way too long.
Had orientation of which I had loads of fun joining my Sem 2 juniors (oh btw, I'm a 3rd Sem student now, I know I nvr update my blog) to orientate the Sem 1s, bringing them around and going through orientation with them.
Then IMU Cup started. IMU Cup is our annual sporting event, similar to Sports Day in school or Olympics. We have events from the usual Track and Field, Football, Tennis, and Swimming, to DotA, darts, Foosball, and Cheerleading.
I participated in Cheerleading.
Hehe. I thought it would be kinda cool to join cheerleading, especially all that buzz DJ-ians make about Dynamitez (the school cheerleading squad). Thought I'd give it a shot, and it would be a good experience. It was indeed!
Of course it isn't as power as Dynamitez lah. It's a interhouse (intrauniversity) competition.
But it was good enough an experience for me to be satisfied with it.
It was like super tiring lah, especially towards the end because we had practices every night for hours and before your aches and soreness can heal, you have to practice again.
But I truly enjoyed myself. Made good friends and all that jazz...
It is a memorable experience indeed.
So now, I need to study hard already. Exam's in less than four weeks :( I practically almost didn't study through these two systems...

Here's another very interesting update I wanna share with you all.
I'd like to introduce to you a new addition to my Apple family! :)

Introducing... the new iPod Touch! :) :) :)
I got myself the latest 32GB iPod Touch last Saturday. Wheee!!!
It's wonderful to have a handheld computer around with you ALL the time. You can conveniently just wiki whatever questions you have in mind straight from the iPod touch. No need to start your computer and all that...
I love it.
As Apple rightly says it, "We don't know how to market the iPod Touch. It is a great music player. A great pocket computer. A great game console"
It is just about everything a computer can do and you can stuff it into your pocket.
I can check my Facebook and Twitter straight from it.
I love it! :)
Can't wait to jailbreak it and install some medical applications.
Anyway, time for me to go to bed. It's late. Just came back from MidValley. Went there at 7ish to have dinner, attempted to study at Starbucks (which kinda failed), and then watched "Cloudy with a chance of meatball"
Tomorrow, I'll reattempt to return to my nerd lifestyle. I will succeed. I will try!
